banana bread

It's our favorite quick bread to make, and I've undercooked the last couple of batches. This batch turned out perfect though, and it's going to be gone pretty quickly! I think the secret is to not overfill the pan and to use the leftover batter for yummy muffins!

It's not "graduation," it's "completion"

The boys "completed" their grade levels today. Lucas is so sad to be leaving Lantern Road but is excited for the challenges that await him at Riverside Intermediate. Max has four more years at Lantern Road and is excited to be a first grader next year. We are so thankful to have wonderful teachers and a wonderful school system where the boys have learned so much and have grown every year.

Max is with his teacher, Mrs. Habeney, who is the kindest, most wonderful and loving teacher you'll ever meet. She had 26 kids this year, and her patience was really put to the test!Lucas is pictured with his fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Catania, who brought back his love of reading. Lucas had such a wonderful year this year and we owe so much of it to Mrs. Catania. She is a fabulous teacher!

Summer is almost here and we're so excited. The boys have less than 10 days of school left. Lucas was placed in an accelerated program next year at school so he will be doing 7th grade math, 6th grade science and 6th grade english in 5th grade! It's going to be a challenge for all of us but will be so well worth it. He is starting a summer math enrichment to prepare him for next year and some play dates with some of the kids in his core pod next year. Should be fun. Max-o had two birthday parties back to back this past weekend! He went to Bounce U for Joie's birthday and joined the Knot Hole Club at the Indians game for Matthew's birthday. Needless to say, he had a fantastic weekend. He is really looking forward to 1st grade. I can't believe how fast they are growing up. I'm finishing up his teacher's end of year gift tonight and can't wait to see how it turns out.

I know I'm not so good about posting updates or pictures like I say I'm going to. Probably has to do with my newly found obsession with Facebook. I will try to be better at posting to this blog, and may just make it temporarily a wedding blog to keep people up to date. We'll see!
